Balavil and Dunachton Moor

A huge area which was originaly split into two. Varied terrain containing a full range of features makes this a special area for orienteering. Used for the Scottish 6 Days in 2007 and the Scottish Champs in 2009.

Balavil is mainly covered with runnable scotch pine plantaion with plentiful rock features. Dunachton moor has a combination of open moor, birch wood, juniper bushes and areas of fast running on short grass.
