Moor of Alvie/Speybank, Tues 5th July
Andy Hyslop plans something fun and challenging for everyone today. Moor of Alvie has plenty of paths so youngsters and beginners can handle it, but Andy knows how to make it challenging for the experts too.
This was a truly international event, with participants from Finland and Ireland, and our biggest Tuesday turnout yet!

About the area/map
Moor of Alvie
A great training area, mostly well-contoured and runnable. Situated north of Kincraig. Suitable for short races or relay training. The area can be linked with the Dunachton Woods map to create longer courses.
A good mix of terrain from super fast mature scotch pine in the south to slightly rougher plantaion in the north. The open area to the north is very fast with short grass (watch out for rabbit holes). The open area north of the railway has some new holiday chalets which are no shown on the map.

I was the guy out for a run from Dalraddy last Tuesday when I came across you at Speybank. Back from holiday now and just wanted to thank you for the opportunity to run your course. As I said to you, I hadn’t orienteered for 25 years but it brought back some nice memories!
Nice of you to make me feel welcome, thanks again.
Cheers
