About the area/map
Uath Lochan
This is one of the best Speyside forests. There has been some felling recently but the best bits are still intact. To the east of road there are broad ridges of runnable scots pine plantation while to the west of the Uath Lochains, above a line of crags, there is a fantastic area of highly technical 'green' forest with boulders, marches and subtle re-entrat features. The area immediately north of the car park has abundant features and is excellent for a quick training session.
The May 2008 map is from Martin Dean's excellent orienteering blog
