Training/coaching/playtime 5th November

In response to popular demand, we're going to have a day of training, coaching or just playing at Culbin on Saturday 5th November.  Culbin is near Forres, a wonderful area of forested dunes with a helpful but sometimes deceptive grid of tracks and paths, and lovely contours to make you think.  Controls are currently out there for the ROMP (Regular Orienteering Map Programme - surely you know about that????), so we can use those as the basis for lots of lovely activities.

Everyone is welcome, member or not, and whatever your standard and level of fitness.  Non-members should note, though, that coaching is really only for members (or "Friends") and I'll have a stock of membership forms with me.... (first year of membership for newcomers is free!)

There will only be a small charge for the day, to cover cost of printing maps;  please let me know by 3rd November at the latest if you'd like to join in, and I'll print the appropriate number of maps.  We'll also combine travel to use as few cars as possible, for obvious reasons.

You don't need to be super-fit or fantastically good to enjoy and benefit from something like this, you can do as much or as little running around as you wish, and sometimes there's a lot of benefit from walking slowly and really looking at things, or having several attempts at the same control, using different techniques.  And if you prefer just to go for a long run along the tracks, you've got plenty of scope.

We'll probably aim to meet there at about 11:00 and I'll plan a couple of different activities with a short break for lunch between and a tea/coffee/cake option afterwards.  And if you've had enough after one session, no-one's going to force you to go out again after lunch.  As ever, it's intended to be low-key and fun.  Do give it a go!
