General Data Protection Regulations
BASOC has always aimed to respect and protect the personal data of all our members, noting that the vast majority of your orienteering relevant data is collected by British Orienteering or Scottish Orienteering and shared with appropriate and approved BASOC members.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) imposes rules and safeguards on those who hold and process personal data, i.e. data relating to living identifiable individuals.
In the interests of being open and fair, the club wishes to inform members of the data held and how it is used.

The next committee meeting will be in Aviemore on Thu 23rd August at 6pm to 8pm.
The Coaching Foundation course is ideal for anyone aged 16 or over who wants to know how to help newcomers to the sport. We're running it on 4 Tuesday evenings starting 29 May, at no cost to BASOC members.
The days are starting to become longer, we are nearly at the end of the Tuesday = DarkO season. The orienteering ‘season’ has started with club members competing at the Scottish Sprint Champs (Stirling University) and the CompassSport Trophy (Beecraigs, near Linlithgow). Gemma, Izzy and Anna all achieved excellent results; everyone had something to smile about and more experience was gained by all.
There is a lot of news again this week, read on for more information!
We have a range of T-shirts, Jackets, O-tops, Buffs and Hoodies.
Jo Cumming is putting an order in on Tuesday 3rd April, contact her with your order and any questions.
What, when, where of Orienteering with BASOC
It can be hard finding out what is happening for orienteering - here is something to help you with this.
All volunteer run organisations have a number of people who help to keep the club functioning. In BASOC we have four named and elected committee posts - Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Junior Rep. There are other elected committee members - they do not have designated roles.
There is a lot taking place over the next few weeks and months - make a note of dates in your diary so that you do not miss any orienteering opportunities!
First of all, thank you to all who have renewed their membership of the club, Scottish Orienteering and some who have also taken out British Orienteering membership. Jane (Cox) will be in touch if you have forgotten. Please do consider joining, as a minimum, the club and Scottish Orienteering, it does help to support the development of our sport.

I am sure that you are all looking forward to competing in lovely forests and taking part in BASOC training to prepare you for competition. There is lots to tell you about, so please read on and make sure you put dates in diary etc.
