Bring A Friend Orienteering (BAFO)
Why BAFO again this year? We were able to remap, buy equipment and run the teaching course thanks to Awards for All and the CNPA. Our commitment is to encourage more people of all ages and abilities to have a go. Hence the BAFO! Please can you bring along someone who is new to the sport or has not participated for some time? Help will be available for beginners.
The cafe will stay open so you can buy hot/cold drinks, sandwiches, home baking and snacks.
Teaching Orienteering Part 1
We are offering this course again, with Hilary as the Tutor, on Tuesday 5th May and Monday 18th May. Both days at Laggan Wolftrax Centre and in the forest from 4.15-7.15pm.
Thanks to funding from Awards for All and the CNPA, the cost is again just £25 including tea, coffee and biscuits so come along and let friends and colleagues know about the opportunity.

Explanation of Score courses
You don't have to visit all the controls! There is usually a time limit, instead of a set course. Points are scored for visiting controls, and deducted for finishing over the time limit. You decide which controls to visit, and in which sequence. Sometimes controls have different points values. You will need to carry a watch or phone, so you know how long you have been out.

Safety and Risk
A comprehensive risk assessment will have been carried out by the organiser, but participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.
Please note that if you have competed in three orienteering events and not joined an orienteering club that is a member of British Orienteering then you are not covered by our public liability insurance.
You have the option of downloading and completing this Medical form. It could be life saving if the organisers are aware of any existing medical conditions in the event of an incident. You can leave it at registration/enquires in a sealed envelope that will only be opened if required and destroyed after the event.
When entering our events your name may appear in the results section of this website or in newspaper reports.
