Local level event
Explanation of event levels
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Thank you all for coming to NNC1 at Church Wood last night. I hope that driving conditions on the way home were not too bad. If the event had been today, I would have been postponing it as we have 10+cm of fresh snow here this morning.
You all seemed to enjoy Jez's courses and the technical challenge of a compact detailed woodland area. I think some of you would have found it easier if we had removed the paths from the map.
The Results, WinSplits & RouteGadget were all uploaded to the BASOC website by 20:30 last night. Please take time to upload your route to RouteGadget, it is interesting from the planning side to see where competitors went and had problems. If you can put in any comments, even better!
The next NNC event is hosted by MOR on 4th December at Cluny Hill in Forres, followed by INVOC's event at Tor Wood, Dores on 11th December. On 22nd January 2025 you will have another opportunity to have BASOC soup when we host NNC4 at Loch Vaa NE from the Boat of Garten Community Hall.
Finally I would like to acknowledge all the BASOC helpers who ensured that NNC1 ran smoothly.
The event will be going ahead this evening, 20th November 2024.
Arm covering (long sleeve thermal OR jackets) will be MANDATORY - no arm covering = no go. It is forecast now to be at least -5C this evening so I would be looking out the hats, gloves, warm tights and thick thermals!
