National level event
Explanation of event levels
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.
Pre-event Information
The Compass Sport Competition is the British Clubs Orienteering Championships started in 1982. Small clubs compete for the Trophy and large clubs compete for the Cup. The competition consists of an initial round in Spring with Regional Heats (Scotland is a Region) and qualifying teams compete in the final in the autumn.
Tayside Orienteers are hosting the Scottish heats on the 23rd of February at Kinnoull Hill near Perth. Full details are here: Compass Sport Competition - Scottish Heats

Head for either Hatton Road or Corsie Hill Road, Perth and follow up towards Kinnoull Wood. Parking on the streets locally (please give due consideration to residents and other park users.

Registration and Start times
Registration will be open at 10:30am. It is in the Quarry carpark area (what3Words: //////ends.voting.agreed).
Start 11am until 1pm. Courses close 3:15pm. Start times list.
The start, finish and assembly areas are all adjacent and within minutes walking of each other.
