Explanation of Event levels
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Activities are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

ATTENTION: If you used the message system on this website to book a map with Hilary your message may not have been received by her.
This followed a change to the server setup that I did last Monday afternoon that I hadn’t expected to impact the message system, and so didn’t test it afterwards. I apologise for any problems this will have caused. The message system is now working correctly.

Directions / Parking
There is plenty of public parking in Aviemore, though if you're using the car park by Aldi, Tiso etc., be aware they do charge penalties for overstaying the time limit. There's lots of parking space around the Macdonald resort. Make your way on foot to the underpass under the A9, near the Youth Hostel, into the Craigellachie Nature Reserve, and the start is a short distance up that path.
Map / Terrain
This area has a wonderful mixture of tussocky grass, open woodland, rock detail and marshy bits. It's quite steep in places and there aren't a lot of paths.
