Explanation of event levels
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Directions / Parking
Registration and Download will be in the Kincraig Community Hall. No muddy shoes or dobs inside the building please.
Parking is by Kincraig Hall or on nearby streets; please be considerate of local residents.

The linking of these three adjacent areas offers courses that are readily accessible from Kincraig village. Dunachton Wood is a pleasant birch forest connected by a bridge over the railway to a well-contoured and runnable open area beside Loch Insh. There is a good mix of terrain on the north side of Kincraig, varying from fast mature Scots pine in the south to slightly rougher plantation in the north.
Registration and Start times
Maps will be issued for both courses at Registration.
Registration: 5.45 pm to 6.45 pm.
Starts: 6 pm to 7 pm.
Courses close at 8 pm; please choose a course and start-time that matches experience and fitness.
Course Information
Please read NNC 2019/20 Guidelines, Rules & Scoring before entering.
Medium Course: Approx. 4.2 km, 100 m climb, tbc.
Long Course: Approx 5.5 km, 175 m climb, tbc.
Distance to Start approx. 250 m, 10 mins walk.
Distance from Finish to Download approx. 800 m along a quiet minor road.
Rail crossing: Competitors must use authorized crossing points at railway bridges.

Entry Details
We have use of Kincraig Community Hall as a venue for Registration/Download, and are hoping to offer hot drinks, soup and home-baking at a modest cost. An indoor venue also offers the benefits of accessible toilets, a warm, dry changing area and the opportunity for a post-run social, so we hope that all competitors will appreciate that in order to cover the additional cost of the indoor venue hire we have increased the entry fee by £1/50p per adult/junior as follows:
Adult/Junior BOF/SOA member: £7/£3.50
Adult/Junior non-member: £8/£4.50
Entry on the Night will be available, but maps will be limited, so please pre-enter on-line at SI Entries.
Dog restrictions
Update: Sorry no dogs as there are cattle wintering in Dunachton Wood, and dogs are not allowed inside the Hall.

Facilities
Toilets are available at the Hall. Please bring extra money for soup & home-baking. Alba Chocolate will also be selling some delicious goodies, so you can stock up on Christmas presents, and their outstanding hot chocolate!

Miscellaneous
Safety: In accordance with NNC Safety Guidelines, carrying a spare torch & whistle is strongly recommended at all events. Random kit checks may take place. An extra top layer and high-vis reflective clothing may also be sensible choices.
Cattle: Please be aware that there are cattle in Dunachton Wood that won't be moved for the Event. Take care, and give them a wide berth/ walk if you encounter any.
