Report

We're having a few issues with Routegadget, hope to have it available soon.

Semi-open contour detail combines with fantastic views to make an enjoyable challenge at TD3 and above. Pairs welcome to try the Orange+ course.

Orange+ maps to be collected from Registration before going to Start.

Pre-event Information

Due to the lack of line features, the easiest course we can offer is a bit beyond TD3, so we're calling it Orange+ and we will give lots of tips to help you. The area has superbly strong boundaries and reliable safety bearing, so we encourage the less experienced to accompany a more capable person on the Orange+ course, and do your best! Directions / Parking

Please park at the Boat of Garten Community Hall, PH24 3BL. If driving into Boat of Garten from North West the Hall is signposted approx 100m from 30mph signs. From the car park it is a 2.2km flat walk/cycle on an excellent path to registration. If hall car park is full please park on Deshar Road. Bikes and bags can be left at competitors' own risk at registration. Under no circumstances are you to park on Kinchurdy Road or on the track to "The Yard".

For anyone living or staying in Aviemore, the easiest approach would be to cycle along the Speyside Way to Registration (but stay on the track as you come through the competition area!). Oh, and there's also the Strathspey Railway with perfect timetabling!

Tasty cakes will also be on sale!

Map / Terrain

Registration and Start times

Registration will be at "The Yard" 10:30 - 12:00. There will be a covered clothing/bag dump there which competitors can use at their own risk. From Registration to Start is about 500m; from Finish back to Registration is a little less, same route for most of it.

Starts 11:00 - 12:30.

Courses close 14:30.

Courses available will be: Orange+ 1.8km (map at 1:5,000), Light Green (3.3km), Green (3.9km) and Blue (6.2km) (map at 1:10,000 for all these).

Although the area is technically challenging, it has excellent boundaries. Safety bearing NW for all courses will take you to large path, then head N.
