Map / Terrain

An area with very detailed contour information. It has defined boundaries so there are no worries about being lost!

Course Information

Start to explore detailed contours. This week the map will be mainly contour only - this actually makes it easier to see the contour detail! The map scale for this week only will be 1:5000, easy to see for all of us. Ideally the exercise would be done in pairs as 'TalkO' - one person talks about what they are doing & thinking on the way to the first control; the other listens and at the control gives feedback, including what they were thinking. You then swop roles.
Short course - with additions available - 1.6km
Possibility to start with a map walk with a coach to get you 'seeing in the dark'. Please contact Lynne if you are interested in doing this.
There will also be 'run' maps available. Run around the paths and tracks, 'virtual controls' (nothing out). Distance 5.3km, can be shortened to 3km. Map scale 1:10000
