Explanation of Event levels

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Activities are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Directions / Parking

Beside Laggantygowan Cemetery, off the A95 3.5km north of Aviemore and immediately on the right after you go under the railway bridge if approaching from Aviemore.

An area with very detailed contour information. It has defined boundaries so there are no worries about being lost!

Course Information

Working on a mixture of 'ups' and 'downs' - can you use the 'ups' to help you locate the 'downs'? The course will use a variety of terrain and take you on a route around Loch Vaa, but the other direction form last week to add variety. Course length 2.6km. Map scale 1:7500 to aid interpretation in the dark! The contour only map and controls (from 12th November) will also be available.
There will also be 'run' maps available. Run around the paths and tracks, 'virtual controls' (nothing out). Distance 5.3km, can be shortened to 3km. Map scale 1:10000.

Well-behaved dogs on a lead.
