Explanation of event levels
Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

The location of control 112 was queried by a couple of competitors. This has now been checked in daylight and we are satisfied it was placed in the correct location. The provisional results are confirmed as final.

Directions / Parking
Parking will be at Abernethy Golf Club in Nethy Bridge. The golf club is just north of the village centre (shop, bridge, hotel), and is signposted from the B970 which goes through the village. We are most grateful to Abernethy Golf Club for letting us use their car park.
Map / Terrain
Nice open woodland with 1 or 2 very quiet roads to cross. Courses will avoid the golf course, but if you happen to stray that way, please be sure to keep off the greens.
Registration and Start times
Registration will open at 5:45pm. A very small number of "Entries on the Night" will be available, on a first come WITH CASH, first served basis. Add £1 per person to entry fees for this privilege. We will not reserve maps for people who say they'll turn up. If you want to run, please enter before the closing date.
STARTS will be from 6:00pm to 6:45pm, courses close 8:00pm. The walk to the start will take just a few minutes. We won't be allocating start times - please don't all turn up in the last 10 minutes!
HIRE DIBBERS will be at the start. ALL MAPS will be at the start.
If you wish to inform us of any relevant medical condition, forms will be available at Registration. Completed forms will be used only if necessary and all will be destroyed immediately after the event.
Course Information
Long and short courses will be technically difficult; we are also offering a Score course which is ideal for anyone less confident in the dark - you choose which controls to go to.
Short 3.5km, 70m climb. 1:7500 Course is in runnable pine forest terrain. The courses crosses a very minor road twice. The crossings will not be manned.
Long 5.5km 85m climb 1:7500 Course is mainly in runnable pine forest, but with a small section of urban orienteering. There are several crossings of minor roads which will not be manned.
Score 8 controls 1:5000 within runnable pine forest. The area is adjacent to the car park, it is contained on all sides and there are no road crossings. Maximum time 80 minutes.

Entry fees: Members £8 senior, £4 junior/student; Non-members £10 senior, £5 junior/student.

Facilities
Parking, Enquiries & Download will be outside the Abernethy Golf Club building in Nethy Bridge. A toilet will be available there, but no other indoor facilities.
Safety Notes
Under-14s must be accompanied by an adult unless they have proven competence and confidence at night orienteering.
