Put control site tapes out in the snow, checked sites in about minus 10, and then put the controls out with no snow at all and a 'balmy' 4 degrees. The planning had been expertly done well in advance to ensure not last minute rush.
It was a chilly but clear and dry night for the 57 runners who joined us. A good mix of high competition and those completing their first night course. The high numbers were a little unexpected, but all went smoothly on the evening. Thankfully all participants were very relaxed about collecting maps and less formal start timings. The hall provided enough space for chatting, comparing routes, and getting some soup.
Thank you to all who came, to those who helped, and to the fabulous control collectors which meant we were all packed up and on our way home by 8.30.
