Badenoch & Strathspey Orienteering Club

Safeguarding, Protection & Welfare

Published: Thu 16 Jan 2025

BASOC wants everyone to stay safe, feel welcome and have fun while taking part in orienteering. We all have a shared responsibility for safeguarding and creating safe, enjoyable environments in orienteering whether as an participant, coach, club official, volunteer, parent or spectator.

If you have any safeguarding or welfare concerns we would encourage you to raise them or incidents you witness at the earliest opportunity with club's Welfare Officer via the Contacts page.

All our members who have significant contact with juniors are required to be members of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and our Welfare Officer is easily contacted if any concerns should arise.

The club abides by the Scottish Orienteering Association's Child Protection Policy, which can be found here, Child Protection Policy information on the SOA website.
