BASOC eNews February 2020
A short eNews this month - everyone must be out orienteering!
1. This is an important message from Badenoch & Strathspey Sports Council
Dear member clubs,
In January I emailed all members of the Sports Council, indicating that we needed new office bearers (Treasurer, Secretary and Chair) for the organisation to survive.
To date we have had no interest in any of these posts, despite contacting all member clubs and publicising the situation through the Strathy and the Community Council.
We will be meeting soon (any responses required by 22/2/20 at the latest) and, unless volunteers have come forward, we will be making plans to wind up the Badenoch and Strathspey Sports Council in May. Under our constitution, our remaining funds (some £4000 or so by then) will be given to Highland Council, and the future funding of local sport by Highland Council will, most likely, be much less accessible to clubs - if available at all.
This is very much the "last chance" for BSSC so please share this with your club members.
Anyone who feels they can help please get in touch with me (treasurer) via this email address in the first instance.
