Events coming up including the BASOC SOL at the end of October as well as Tuesday=O is almost DarkO, remember your head torch!

1. BASOC SOL5 27th October

Planning and preparations for SOL 5 at Alvie Estate are going well. Watch out for further event details. We are looking for volunteers to support this event. If we have not contacted you please get in touch with us if you can help. There are plenty of roles where you can help and run.

Entries open on Wednesday 18th September.

2. Tuesday=O

It is starting to get darker so worthwhile taking a head torch along for the rest of September (it helps with reading the map!).

October: yes, definitely have a fully charged head torch with you for October!

3. Other local events coming up

The MTBO events are low key, social and good fun! The Nairn one will have a very easy course (biking-wise) so why not give it a go?

Both MOR and INVOC have events in October, keep an eye on their websites for details.

    4. Updated BASOC calendar

The latest version is now available.

    5. NNC (Northern Night Cup)

This series starts in November with a BASOC event at Church Wood (Grantown) on Wednesday 20th November. Details regarding the rest of the series will come out in October.

      6. NUL - final standings

Congratulations to (Purple) Jane who came second lady in the Long course and to Rhona who came second on Short. We hope you enjoyed the chocolates!

        7. Board meeting minutes

The Board met on 26th August. The minutes are now available.

        8. VHI, Northern Ireland, 5th & 6th October

Rebecca (W40) & Rob (M70) are travelling to this, representing Scotland – good luck & enjoy!

        9. Courses for volunteering and coaching

Scottish Orienteering have a calendar of courses and BASOC members have signed up for some:

Have a look at the calendar - is there anything you would like to do?
