Northern Night Cup 4 and CompassSport Cup/Trophy
Have you got your entry in for these? Read on for more details about both.
Northern Night Cup 4 - Spey Valley Golf Course
This event takes place on Wednesday 24th January 2024 - it is being hosted by BASOC. Have you entered yet? Entries close on Sunday 21st January at 23:30.
Full event details are on the website and SIentries. There may be limited score course entry on the night. Please enter via SIentries if you are planning to come.
The golf course and surrounding wooded areas are mostly open and runnable. There has been a lot of snow this week. Based on the forecast it is likely the snow will have melted and it may be quite wet underfoot. Please watch the weather forecast and come prepared.
Spare torch and whistle are mandatory and will be checked.
Map collection, registration, and download will all be from a van parked at the end of the road in the industrial estate beside the crossfit gym. The crossfit team have very kindly said competitors can make use of their portaloo if required. Please leave it clean and tidy (note if the gym is closed there will be no access to toilets).
Parking is in the industrial estate, please be considerate of other users and avoid parking inside or blocking any gated premises.
Finally, there will be dog walkers and other people around in the event area, please be aware and considerate of others.
We will need a few volunteers for control collecting after, please let us know when you collect your map if you are able to help. Remember start 1800-1845, courses close at 2000.
Fingers crossed the weather is amenable and we can get out and orienteer. A full moon is forecast!
CompassSport Cup & Trophy
The Scottish heat of this inter-club event is taking place on Sunday 18th February at Birnam Hill.
You can now enter on SiEntries. Please be quick as entries close again on 4th February to allow Club Captains (Jane Chisholm) time to allocate start times and convince people to make course changes!
It would be brilliant if we can get the full compliment of 13 counting scores so please come along and enjoy a team outing. Enter the colour class for your age group (details are on the FVO website).
Once I (Jane) see who has entered I might be in touch with folk to see if they are willing to “run up” as we only get two counting scores per class. If you would be interested / willing to run up, drop me an email.
