Veteran Home Internationals 2017, Bulletin Two
The 2017 VHI Relay will be held at Auchernack & Balliefurth near Grantown-on-Spey. Auchernack & Balliefurth is a narrow area bounded by the River Spey to the west and the B970 to the east. The 2017 VHI Individual will be held at Inshriach, the classic Speyside pine forest with unparalleled contour detail. Scale for Brown course 1:15,000 & for all other courses 1:10,000. Contour interval 5m, minor revisions Aug 2017. Map preview here.
A small training area, Inshriach North, will be available from Friday 0900 and throughout the weekend. This is less than 1km from Lagganlia. Training maps will be supplied to all teams.
Electronic Punching System
In a change from Bulletin 1, SIAir contactless punching will not be used. Instead, SI timing with traditional contact punching will be used.

VHI Relay. Mass starts at 10.10 and 10.15
(WOLF Sprint event, Aviemore. Starts 15.00 – 16.30*)
VHI dinner, two sittings at 17.30 and 18.30
Relay prizegiving 19.30
* The sprint is not part of the VHI competition. If team members wish to take part they will need to individually enter the sprint via SiEntries when it opens.
Sunday 24 September
VHI Individual. Start times 09.30 – 10.30

Accommodation will be at Lagganlia Centre for Outdoor Learning near Kincraig www.lagganlia.com. Rooms will be spread over several self-catering lodges on the site. The accommodation package includes 2 nights bed and breakfast, packed lunches on Saturday and Sunday, plus dinner on Saturday and the Saturday night ceilidh which will also be open to other participants in the WOLF weekend. A bar will be provided for dinner and the ceilidh by the Friends of Lagganlia charity. The cost of the accommodation package is £90 per person. Dinner will not be provided on the Friday but the self catering facilities in the lodges may be used.
Entry fees are £8 per person for the relay and £15.00 per person for the individual.
Training maps for Inshriach North are free of charge and a pack for each team will be posted out to Team Captains.
Entries and accommodation bookings for the VHI can be made by Team Captains only through Anne Hickling (email address above). VHI Team Members should not enter the event themselves through SIEntries – but see note below re. WOLF Sprint.
Entries must be received by 28 July please. Payment must be made at time of entry – payment details available from Anne Hickling. Names of team members may be changed after this date but we need to know how much accommodation will be required.
It is likely that some rooms may be available for team supporters/family members. The same accommodation package will be available at the same cost. Rooms may be booked on a first-come-first served basis after team bookings have closed.
Any non-team members wishing to run in the WOLF weekend should enter through SIEntries (open from end June). The same applies to any team members running in the Aviemore sprint on Saturday afternoon (starts 15.00 – 17.00). The sprint is not part of the VHI competition.
