Alice has sent in a report about her experiences during the ScotJOS Tour - her first tour to Sweden. At the moment (August 2022) she is on another tour, this time to Stockholm.

I had a brilliant time orienteering in Sweden this July with the Scotjos squad. We stayed at two different Swedish club huts. The first had a small lake right next to the hut and we swam twice every day - once when we got back from training in the forest and again after dinner. There was also a football pitch and ad hoc volleyball over the clothes line, and one evening Jane Chisholm (Purple Jane to BASOC folks) organised a big game of "capture the flag" for us all.

The highlight of the second hut was the sauna which was very well used when we got back from our daily swim.

As well as training every day we took part in two 3-day events as part of the tour. I felt I managed to adapt quite well to the different terrain and I was pleased with my results. It was great to be in a country where orienteering is a main stream and so many more people orienteer.

The worst part was that it took 2 days to travel home due to our flight being cancelled - but it was still worth it all!
