Explanation of event levels

Local events are usually low key and in the 'localised' area, ideal for newcomers to try the sport and Training events are non competitive events used for training and coaching, aimed at members of the club, but they can attract people from neighbouring clubs, and are often ideal for newcomers to try the sport. Regional events attract participants from around the local Region, National events are high quality competitions that will attract people from far away, Major events are Major Events such as a British Championships.

Directions / Parking

Park in the car park in Carrbridge and walk south beside the road for 100m to the Village Hall.
No O shoes in the hall please.

A lovely Scots Pine woodland with a good path network - and a marsh!

Registration and Start times

Briefing at 10:45am (and collect your dibber if you need one), depart the Village Hall at 11am (approximately).

Course Information

One course of three short loops - with the bonus controls of Blitzen, Comet & Cupid!
SI will be used (sorry, not SIAC enabled).

Entry Details

Pre-entries have now closed and maps are printed - there are some spare maps although we are nearly at the number of entries = number of maps printed! So if you missed the pre-entry deadline, then email Lynne Walker (via Contacts page) to request an entry (subject to map availability and £1 extra - exact cash on the day for this please). No entries after Monday 26th December 12 noon.
BASOC members = £3 adult, £2 junior / student with non-BASOC members = £4 adult, £3 junior / student

Dog restrictions

Dogs allowed on the course; no dogs allowed in the hall.

Facilities

Toilets in the hall.
Bring your lunch along (who will have the 'Best Christmas sandwich'?), tea & coffee will be available; there will be some games!

Safety Notes

Paths have been icy after the recent wintry weather; 'Dobs' or YakTracs are recommended (at the time of writing, 24th December). There will be an update about path conditions at the briefing.
Courses will close at 12 noon, make sure you know the time!

This is a social event, a chance to do some O as well as sit and chat over your sandwiches. There will be O games in the hall after lunch. If you have any games then please bring them along - Lynne will have some cones if you need them.
