Events, training, club outing . . .
1. Events
There are closing dates for events approaching fast!
Sunday 23rd April: SOL 3 at Dunalastair near Tummel Bridge. Entries close midnight Sunday 16th April.
Saturday 27th May: Scottish Individual Champs, Creag Mhic near Oban. Entries for this finally close on 16th May but if you would like to save some money the cheapest entries finish on 17th
April.
INVOC have their Schools league / evening events May 3rd (Creag Phadrig Inverness), 17th (Ord Hill North Kessock) and 31st (Culloden). They are also hosting the Moray & Highland Champs on 11th June at Carse (near Ardersier).
2. Scottish Champs weekend
This is a weekend event near Oban on Saturday 27th
and Sunday 28th May with the Individual at Creag Mhic on the Saturday and the Relays at Inverawe on the Sunday.

Club captain (Purple) Jane will be looking for anyone who would like a relay run. It might also be an idea to car share for the actual events as car parking charges are quite high!
3. Tuesday=O
The spring programme continues with Clare putting on training at Loch Vaa SW (parking at the cemetery car park) on 18th
& 25th April.
Callum is planning the training in May.

4. BASOC Club outing
On Saturday 20 May we're having a club outing to Findhorn, for a local orienteering event (organised by Moravian Orienteers) followed by what we hope will be a sunny picnic by the sea. Put the date in your diary and tell your friends and relations about it - it's for everyone, members and non-members, all ages, expert orienteers or complete beginners - an ideal opportunity to try an event with lots of help. In fact if you'd like to go round with a buddy, that'll be just fine. Details of how to enter will follow before long!
5. JK report
Clare, Alice and (Purple) Jane enjoyed Easter weekend at the JK orienteering festival, held this year in the Lake District.
At the Sprint on Good Friday, Alice was 3rd in W18E – congratulations!
The Middle distance on Saturday and the Long on Easter Sunday were combined for overall results with Alice coming 5th overall in W18E. Jane competed in W40L and had a better run on the Sunday and came 21st overall; Clare was 25th
in W55L and had her best run in the middle distance race.
6. BASOC Board minutes
BASOC Board met by Zoom on 3rd April. The Board Meeting Minutes will be on the website soon.
