Following on from the responses to the Tuesday=O questionnaire, the shape of Tuesday=O will change a bit.

First of all, many thanks to all who took the time to fill in the questionnaire with their thoughts about Tuesday=O and the shape that any changes might take. As expected, it will not be possible to please all the BASOC members all of the time - hopefully the changes will suit most people, we are still very willing to take feedback so please let us know! You can read the summary of the feedback in this PDF.

The changes will be implemented from the start of November 2022 and will run for two years. There will be periods of review during this time and towards the end of it.

So, what is going to happen? The changes are broadly along the lines detailed in the T=O Thoughts diagram; some adjustments have been made in light of the feedback from club members. These will be seen if you view the BASOC Calendar. We recommend that you download this calendar, pin it on the fridge or put the dates in your diary! The calendar will be updated on a monthly basis and will be linked to in the BASOC eNews. There will be changes to the calendar, who is doing what will be filled in as well as locations as soon as they are known.

You will see that there are some Tuesdays when there is no BASOC training (mainly if there is a Northern Night Cup event on the Wednesday night of that week and also during the weeks of deepest winter); there is a block when it will be 'self=serve' but you will still be able to email to say you are going to be there at 6:30pm on the Tuesday and you will be informed if anyone else will be there. Some social gatherings are inserted, it is important that we can get together as a club in a relaxing way.

Suzanne is taking on the task of finding volunteers to lead activities throughout the year including the regular Tuesday night training sessions. If your response to the Tue=O questionnaire indicated that you would be willing to be involved, then Suzanne will soon be in touch to confirm what you would like to do. If you didn’t fill in the questionnaire but are willing to help out at training at some point during the year, then please get in touch with Suzanne directly via the Volunteer Coordinator link on the Contacts page of the BASOC website. There are lots of things that would help the club including just being willing to organise a social get-together occasionally, so don’t worry if you’re not an expert orienteering planner! If you’d like to organise something just get in touch.
You can see the tasks - and who has already signed up for a task - in Sharing T=O tasks v2.
