This weekend BASOC members are heading to the SW of Scotland (Dalbeattie and Drumlanrig) for the Scottish Champs. There is a good entry for the individual on Saturday with a couple of relay teams entered for the Sunday. Keep an eye on the Solway website for results over the weekend.

At the start of May the British Long Distance Champs were in Yorkshire; congratulations to Alice who is the W14 Champion – see the article on the BASOC website

There were other good performances from BASOC members and this has led to Izzy Cox being selected for the Stockholm Summer Tour (aimed at M/W17s) and Anna Cox for the Deeside Summer Tour (aimed at M/W16s); well done and we look forward to the reports from the tours.

A note from Hilary Q about Tuesday sessions

I'm still looking for volunteers to do Tuesday sessions please - odd dates or a few, plan or deliver it on the night or both, controls or no controls, your choice of venue, your choice of activity! You'll get as much support as you want, and I'm sure you'll find it an enjoyable learning opportunity. Next date waiting to be filled is 25 June - close to the longest day, who's got a bright idea for that? Anyone and everyone can do something to keep these regular training sessions viable - please email me: quickhil@gmail.com

Some sessions will see the return of "virtual controls" - no kites out, so participants have to look carefully at the map and check they're in the right place. Ideal for the planner who isn't confident or lacks time to put out controls!
