Getting back into Orienteering

For some it will have been over a year since you went to an orienteering competition (CompassSport Cup event in mid-March 2020?). We are all a bit 'rusty' so time to revisit some of the skills we require to successfully navigate a course.

The Scottish Orienteering Championships are planned for Sunday 13th June 2021 at Craig a' Barns (near Dunkeld). The championships are for everyone, it does not matter how long you have been orienteering.

Hilary (Q) and Lynne have worked on a programme for Tuesday=O to get us all confidently orienteering again. The outline of this is given below; each week has a theme and detailed notes will be sent to you along with the map and meeting place for that week. A coach will be available at each session so that you can ask questions / check things through before you start the exercise and chat to them after your training.

As part of the sessions, we will be looking into the implementation of 'Systematic O'. A 'help sheet' about this will be sent to you when you first register for any of the sessions. Please register for each Tuesday=O session in turn with Hilary - as per the details on the website page.
